Module 5: Automated Data Upload

This module introduces the process of automated data upload to the ACQF Qualifications and Credentials Platform (QCP). It explains how countries can transition from manual uploads to automated systems that connect directly with their national databases. The module highlights the benefits of automation, including efficiency, data consistency, and reduced workload for curators, while also addressing the technical and policy considerations involved. By the end, participants will understand how automated data flows strengthen the integrity of qualifications data and ensure that national systems are seamlessly linked with the continental platform.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and benefits of automated data upload within the ACQF QCP.
  2. Identify the technical requirements for setting up automated data flows from national databases to the QCP.
  3. Recognise the roles and responsibilities of national authorities, curators, and technical staff in ensuring quality and compliance of uploaded data.
  4. Evaluate challenges and solutions in implementing automation, including interoperability, data standards, and governance considerations.

Module 3: QCP Platform Overview

Objective: Gain comprehensive understanding of the QCP’s technical architecture, data model, and interoperability features.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the QCP’s architecture and key components
  • Explain the African Learning Model (ALM) and its importance for data standardisation
  • Identify critical interoperability features and standards used in the QCP
  • Recognise the importance of data quality and governance in the QCP

Module 2: ACQF Policy Framework and the QCP

Objective: Understand the policy context of the ACQF and how the QCP supports continental integration of qualifications data.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) and its objectives
  • Explain how the QCP aligns with and supports ACQF policy goals
  • Identify key policy benefits of the QCP for national and regional stakeholders
  • Apply knowledge of the QCP to support national qualification frameworks

Module 1: Foundational Knowledge – Qualifications Databases in the African Context

Objective: Establish core understanding of qualification databases within the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF), highlighting their strategic importance for national qualification systems across Africa.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the key purposes and benefits of qualification databases specifically for African countries
  • Map relevant stakeholders within their national qualification ecosystems
  • Evaluate their country’s current qualification database model against continental standards
  • Apply lessons from successful qualification database implementations to their national context

Module 4: Practical Implementation

Objective: Develop practical skills for effective use of the QCP Curator interface and data management tools.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Navigate the QCP Curator interface efficiently
  • Map national qualification data to the ALM format
  • Implement quality assurance processes for data validation
  • Execute successful data imports through manual and automated methods
